Kanal

After the action-thriller Shikkar, Mohanlal, M Padmakumar and scriptwriter Suresh Babu are teaming up again for the second time. Titled Kanal, the movie is touted to be a family thriller. Mohanlal is working with M Padmakumar after a gap of five years. The movie is being planned to shot in a realistic way and will go on floors by August 2015. It is reported that, a young actor has been roped to share screen space with Mohanlal. 

Filmmaker Padmakumar says the story of Kanal revolves around two people who are stuck in Dubai, affected by the recession, and are now back to God's Own Country. "The two don't share a similar lifestyle and have had different experiences in Dubai. What happens after they meet in Kerala forms the plot of the story."
Vinod Illampilly will crank the camera while Ouseppachan will be the music director. Ernakulam, Mysore, Munnar and Dubai will be the major shooting locations.

മോഹന്‍ലാലും എം. പത്മകുമാറും ഒന്നിക്കുന്ന പുതിയ ചിത്രത്തിന് കനല്‍ എന്നു പേരിട്ടു. മുന്‍ ചിത്രമായ ശിക്കാര്‍ പോലെ ഇതുമൊരു ത്രില്ലര്‍ ത ന്നെയാണ്. ശിക്കാറിനു തിരക്കഥയെഴുതിയ സുരേഷ്ബാബു തന്നെയാണു കഥയും തിരക്കഥയും ഒരുക്കിയിരിക്കുന്നത്. ദുബൈയില്‍ ജോലി നഷ്ടപ്പെട്ട് നാ്ട്ടിലെത്തുന്ന രണ്ടുപേരുടെ കഥയാണിത്. രണ്ടുപേരും പ്രതികാരബുദ്ധിയോടെയാണു തിരിച്ചെത്തുന്നത്. എന്നാല്‍ ദുബൈയില്‍ ഒരു ബന്ധവുമില്ലാതിരുന്ന ഇവര്‍ നാട്ടിലെത്തിയതോടെയാണ് ലക്ഷ്യം ഒന്നാണെന്നു തിരിച്ചറിയുന്നത്.

മോഹന്‍ലാലിനൊപ്പം മലയാളത്തിലെ യുവനടനും പ്രധാന വേഷം ചെയ്യും. അത് പൃഥ്വിരാജോ ദുല്‍ഖര്‍ സല്‍മാനോ ആവാന്‍ സാധ്യതയുണ്ടെന്നും അറിയുന്നു. രണ്ടുപേരില്‍ ആരെങ്കിലും ഒരാള്‍ തന്നെയായാലും മലയാള സിനിമയെ സംബന്ധിച്ച് അതൊരു പ്രതീക്ഷ നല്‍കുന്ന കാര്യമാണ്.
ശിക്കാറിലെ പോലെ പല രഹസ്യങ്ങള്‍ സൂക്ഷിക്കുന്നൊരു കഥാപാത്രത്തെയാണ് ലാല്‍ കനലില്‍ അവതരിപ്പിക്കുന്നത്. മനസ്സില്‍ എരിയുന്ന കനലുമായി ജീവിക്കുന്ന രണ്ടുപേരുടെ കഥയാണിത്.

KappaPappadam

New actor Fahad Fazil is surely going places. After reports of him singing Mani Ratnam's next, comes the news that the actor has agreed to do the lead role in Aneesh Kuruvila's next. The director known for his Telugu films making his first Malayalam film with 'Kappa Pappadam' which will have Y V Rajesh's script.

Raju Mathew of Century films produces this movie which will also feature Parvathy Menon, Prathap Pothen, Raveendran , Anoop Chandran, Manikantan Pattambi, Sunil Sukhada and Bhagath Manuel in the cast .The movie to be shot at Sundharapandyapuram, Kochy and Bangalore will be go on floor from 25th November.

After the movies 'Second Show' and 'Usthad Hotel', young star Dulqar Salman has agreed to play the lead in the new movie titled as 'June'. To be directed by debutante Kannan, 'June' will have him playing  the role of a guitarist in the movie which will be a musical love story. Also scripted by the director, June is expected to be on sets by the month of May. The other highlight of the movie will be that it will be captured on camera by cinematographer Kathir famous for his many Tamil hits including Subhramaniapuram. 'June' will have music by Santhosh Varma- Alphonse team.

Puli Murugan

Here comes good news for all ardent Mohanlal fans! The actor who is basking in the success of his latest outing Drishyam will be seen as Puli Murugan in his next.

Reportedly, the upcoming movie helmed by the director Vysakh will be a mass entertainer packed with all the rollicking fun elements. The director's last outing Visudhan, with Kunchacko Boban and Mia George in the lead was also a block buster hit.

However, the sources say that 'Puli Murugan' is a tentative title and will change soon. The Mohanlal starrer big budget is expected to kick start in September this year.

"Puli Murugan" will be bankrolled by Tomichan Mulakupaadam, under the banner of Mulakupaadam Films.
