Here comes good news for all ardent Mohanlal fans! The actor who is basking in the success of his latest outing Drishyam will be seen as Puli Murugan in his next.

Reportedly, the upcoming movie helmed by the director Vysakh will be a mass entertainer packed with all the rollicking fun elements. The director's last outing Visudhan, with Kunchacko Boban and Mia George in the lead was also a block buster hit.

However, the sources say that 'Puli Murugan' is a tentative title and will change soon. The Mohanlal starrer big budget is expected to kick start in September this year.

"Puli Murugan" will be bankrolled by Tomichan Mulakupaadam, under the banner of Mulakupaadam Films.

വൈശാഖ് ചിത്രമായ പുലിമുരുഗനില്‍ മോഹന്‍ലാല്‍ അഭിനയിക്കുന്ന കാര്യം തീര്‍പ്പായി. വൈശാഖ് സംവിധാനം ചെയ്യുന്ന ചിത്രം ഈ വര്‍ഷം ആദ്യം ചിത്രീകരണം തുടങ്ങേണ്ടതായിരുന്നു. എന്നാല്‍ കഥ ലാലിന് ഇഷ്ടപ്പെടാത്തതിനെ തുടര്‍ന്ന് ചിത്രീകരണം മാറ്റിവയ്ക്കുകയായിരുന്നു. ഇടക്കാലത്ത് ലാല്‍ ചിത്രം ഉപേക്ഷിച്ചെന്ന വാര്‍ത്തയുണ്ടായിരുന്നു. നിര്‍മാതാവ് ടോമിച്ചന്‍ മുകളുപ്പാടവുമായി ചര്‍ച്ച ചെയ്ത ശേഷമാണ് ലാല്‍ അഭിനയിക്കാന്‍ തീരുമാനിച്ചത്. സിബി കെ. തോമസ്- ഉദയ് കൃഷ്ണയാണ് കഥയും തിരക്കഥയും ഒരുക്കുന്നത്.
19 വര്‍ഷത്തെ ഇടവേളയ്ക്ക് ശേഷം തമിഴ് നടന്‍ പ്രഭുവും മോഹന്‍ലാലും ഒന്നിയ്ക്കുന്നു. വൈശാഖ് സംവിധാനം ചെയ്യുന്ന പുലിമുരുകന്‍ എന്ന ചിത്രത്തിന് വേണ്ടിയാണ് മോഹന്‍ലാലും പ്രഭുവും ഒന്നിച്ചെത്തുന്നത്.
